Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell (born 25th August, 1949) is an American TV chef who is a popular personality. She also was a former instructor of the Institute of Culinary Education. Burrell hosts Secrets of a Restaurant Chef on Food Network. Food Network. Anne Burrell, a Food Network presenter with her distinctive long, blonde hair with a exuberant personality, shares easy techniques to master and reduces the fear of eating at restaurants in her series Secrets of a Restaurant. Chef Burrell is also a seasoned veteran of New York City's best restaurants. Additionally, she has learned about Italy's food traditions and the culture of Italy, as well as the environment. Burrell, who grew up within New York State's Upstate, discovered a love of cooking. Following her graduation with an English and Communication diploma from Canisius College in Buffalo NY she was able to pursue her love of the industry of restaurants by registering in The Culinary Institute of America. The Culinary Institute of America is a wonderful experience. It was hard to study how to do, or even work hard enough. Following graduation, Chef Burrell resided in Italy for a year, taking classes at the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners. She also worked in La Taverna del Lupo and La Bottega del 30 (a Michelin highly rated restaurant) located in Tuscany. In her time in Italy she came to be aware of the philosophies behind Italian cuisine and culture which left a lasting impact on her culinary viewpoint. Burrell is a member of the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board that brightens up the lives of children who are struggling. Additionally, she is a Juvenile diabetes Research Foundation celebrity advocate where she has a mission to raise awareness for juvenile diabetics. In her capacity as an inspirational speaker, she travels across the nation to share her passion for food and her culinary career. Anne has said throughout her culinary career she is incredibly fortunate to have the opportunity to share with others what is most important to her.
