Avery Sunshine

Avery Sunshine is a mercurial singer and composer who weds soul gospel jazz and R&B in a signature mix. Sunshine has performed everywhere from Broadway through The Democratic National Convention to the European scene of clubs and festivals. Sunshine Her real name was Denise White. While she is a resident of Atlanta, she originates out of Chester Pennsylvania where she began the musical path by singing and playing the piano in churches. In Atlanta she went to Spellman College where her musical training began on Atlanta's R&B Scene. She became the primary keyboardist at Tyler Perry's stage production Meet the Browns. Jennifer Holliday, a Grammy and Tony Award winning vocalist who was part of the stage production Dreamgirls in the National Black Arts Festival of Atlanta in 2007, approached her to serve as the director of the choral group for the production. Sunshine was brought to the attention of the nation during 4 performances a day during the 2008 Democratic National Convention. Sunshine was later requested to sing with the President Barack Obama at his inauguration.
